Second Referee Qualification [2009/2010]
There are a several ways to become qualified to be your team’s second referee.
JUNIORS: Fellowship Events or Clinics
Junior players are strongly encouraged to obtain their certification by attending an in-person clinic and practicing their skills at a scrimmage at a Fellowship Event. Check the calendar or contact Paul Putman for the availability of Fellowship Events.
For Junior players unable to attend a Fellowship, additional clinics may be arranged upon request.
After registering at and participating in the fellowship or clinic, players must successfully complete the on-line test (link below) to finish the certification process.
Once attendance at a clinic is verified, the member's name will appear on the list of certified Second Referees.
A future goal is to be able to efficiently enter this information in WEBPOINT so that R2 qualifications will appear in the member’s information and on the WEBPOINT roster.
ADULTS: On-line Clinics
Adult players will no longer need to travel to attend a Second Referee Clinic. The clinic can now be completed on-line (link below). Just read through the clinic material (ignore the year and what it says about Yankee volleyball!), then take a short (10 question) quiz (link below). Follow the instructions on the quiz carefully.
After passing the quiz, the member's name will appear on the list of certified Second Referees.
A future goal is to be able to efficiently enter this information in WEBPOINT so that R2 qualifications will appear in the member’s information and on the WEBPOINT roster.
