Second Referee [R2] Qualification
There are a several ways to become qualified to be your team’s second referee.
JUNIORS: Fellowship Events or Clinics
Junior players are strongly encouraged to obtain their certification by attending an in-person clinic and practicing their skills at a scrimmage at a Fellowship Event. Check the CALENDAR or contact Paul Putman for the availability of Fellowship Events. R2 clinics may be arranged upon request, usually in association with a Scorekeeper clinic.
There are three steps for IREVA Junior members to become certified as a second referee [R2].
1] Attend a fellowship / clinic. Ensure that your name and club name is on the attendance list and LEGIBLE.
2] Take and pass the on-line R2 accreditation clinic / quiz at http://www.volleyballreftraining.com/powerpoints/ppt20_JrR2_11-12/player.html [IREVA members’ password = IEK662A.]
3] Successfully perform as the R2 at one match at an IREVA tournament. See link below for R2 PROFICIENCY.
R2 qualifications will be entered by IREVA in WEBPOINT. After passing the on-line quiz, the member’s referee status in WEBPOINT will be updated to “pending”. After successful performance at a tournament, the First Referee will indicate that information on the scoresheet, which will be turned in to IREVA; the member’s referee status in WEBPOINT will be subsequently updated to “certified”.
ADULTS: On-line Clinics
Adult players are encouraged, but are not required, to attend a Second Referee Clinic / Fellowship.
