SCOREKEEPING IN IREVA – 2009/10

JUNIORS: Becoming Initially Certified as a PROVISIONAL Scorekeeper or re-certifying every two years
  • Register with IREVA and be a member in good standing.
  • Attend scorekeeping clinic [Fellowship or regular] in its entirety and make sure your name is on the attendance sheet.
  • Take scorekeeping Test B in hardcopy and turn it in to your clinician to be graded. Pass with an 80% or better score.
  • Send copy of two-game scoresheet(s) to your scorekeeper clinician, either completed during the scrimmage matches at a Fellowship Event or by keeping score at an IREVA sanctioned tournament, where all scoresheets are automatically turned in to the Scorekeeper Director by each Tournament Director. *
  • Clinician sends your name to the Scorekeeper Director and your certification information is entered into WEBPOINT. This information will appear in your personal information, on your membership card, and on your team’s WEBPOINT roster.
Scorekeeper certifications are now valid for two years! After your first year certified as a PROVISIONAL Scorekeeper, you only have to attend a Fellowship Event or clinic every other year! There are no additional certification requirements during the off-year.

ADULTS: there are two options for becoming certified as a PROVISIONAL Scorekeeper initially and re-certifying every other year: [1] attend the Scorekeeper clinic as part of a Fellowship Event or a separate scorekeeping clinic for groups of adults upon request, or [2] you may self-certify by doing the following:
  • Review the on-line Scorekeeper Clinic charts here
  • Take and pass on-line scorekeeper's TEST C at: http://www.volleyballreftraining.com/usavtest/
  • The password for on-line test in 2009-2010 is: IEY634S
  • Your USAV certification level is normally Provisional or Regional
  • Correct the on-line test if you receive any wrong answers back in an email. (If you do not get an email – your test results did not get to the Scorekeeper Director)
  • You must also keep score at an IREVA sanctioned tournament (which will automatically get sent to the Scorekeeper Director * or else send in a copy of a two-game scoresheet to demonstrate practical application to the Scorekeeper Director (scorekeeper@ireva.org).
IT IS IREVA’S GOAL TO HAVE SCOREKEEPER CERTIFICATION INFORMATION IN WEBPOINT, THE MEMBER REGISTRATION SYSTEM, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IF YOUR CERTIFICATION INFORMATION IS NOT IN WEBPOINT, YOU WILL NOT SHOW UP AS A QUALIFIED SCOREKEEPER ON A WEBPOINT ROSTER. IN ORDER TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS, IT MAY BE HELPFUL FOR A MEMBER TO NOTIFY MIKE MCNEIL WHEN SCORESHEETS TO BE REVIEWED FOR CERTIFICATION HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AT A TOURNAMENT.

JUNIORS AND ADULTS:

Upgrading Certification to Regional Scorekeeper
  • Achieve and maintain Provisional Scorekeeper certification for two consecutive years
  • Arrange to have an onsite rating at an IREVA tournament by a qualified scorekeeper clinician
  • Pass the rating
  • Send the rating sheet to the scorekeeper chair
Maintaining Certification as Regional Scorekeeper
  • Take and pass on-line scorekeeper’s Test C (see above) every two years
  • Renewing Regional Scorekeepers are exempt from the requirement to submit scoresheets, as they have been previously rated demonstrating successful practical application.
Moving up beyond Regional Scorekeeping Certification – Regional Scorekeepers are encouraged to consider upgrading their certification status so that can assist IREVA in training scorekeepers and potentially be compensated for work at USAV Nationals.
  • NATIONAL JUNIOR SCOREKEEPER
  • NATIONAL SCOREKEEPER
  • USA INTERNATIONAL SCOREKEEPER
