BECOMING INITIALLY CERTIFIED AS PROVISIONAL SCOREKEEPER
- Attend scorekeeping clinic in its entirety and make sure your name is on the attendance sheet.
- Take scorekeeping Test B and send it to your clinician to be graded. Pass with an 80%.
- Send copy of two-game scoresheet(s) to your scorekeeper clinician.
- Clinician sends your name to the scorekeeper chair
After your first year, you only have to attend a clinic every other year!
Off-year – the year after you take a clinic:
- Register by contacting scorekeeper chair of your intent to be a scorekeeper for the season (email to IREVA Scorekeeping Chair (Mike McNeil) at scorekeeper@ireva.org)
- Review the scorekeeping clinic
- Take and pass on-line scorekeeper’s TEST at http://www.yankee.org/scorers/usavtest/
- Password for on-line test 2007-2008 is IEE655S, and the region is IROQUOIS – Mike McNeil
- Your USAV certification level is normally Provisional, not Junior (IREVA does not use Junior)
- Correct the on-line test if you get any wrong answers back in an e-mail (if you do not get an e-mail – your test did not get to the scorekeeper chair)

UPGRADING CERTIFICATION TO REGIONAL SCOREKEEPER
- Achieve status and maintain Provisional Scorekeeper certification for two consecutive years.
- Arrange to have an onsite rating at an IREVA tournament by a qualified scorekeeper clinician.
- Pass the rating.
- Send the rating sheet and scoresheets that you were rated on to the scorekeeper chair.
MAINTAINING CERTIFICATION AS REGIONAL SCOREKEEPER
- Take and pass on-line scorekeeper’s Test C (see above)
- Per the current IREVA Policy, Regional Scorekeeper Certification is good for two seasons, expiring January 31 of your expiration year. For example if you become certified in the 2006-2007 season your certification will expire January 31, 2009. If you wish you may re-take the on-line test during your off year to extend your certification for an additional year.
IT IS IREVA'S GOAL TO HAVE SCOREKEEPER AND REFEREE CERTIFICATION STATUS POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
