IREVA JUNIORS –

Welcome to another season of USAV Junior Olympic (JO) Volleyball. These pages are devoted to topics of specific interest to our Juniors community – players, parents, coaches and Club Directors in IREVA.

We will not repeat general information here that is found elsewhere – concerning registration, tournaments, coaches, etc., so be sure to look at those pages if that is the kind of information you need. Also be sure to check the news items and the calendar. However, when significant changes are made here or elsewhere, there may be a note below under WHAT’S NEW.

Check out the various links below for JO information for this season. Updates will happen as quickly as possible.

Contact Hazel Goldstein, our Juniors Director at juniors@ireva.org if you:
  • need information about USAV and IREVA JO volleyball;
  • are looking for a place to play;
  • want to start a new JO club;
  • have concerns;
  • or want to jump in and help make IREVA Juniors programs bigger and better.
WHAT'S NEW:
5/15/09

This year over eighty girls will be participating in IREVA’s High Performance program. In addition to intensive training camps at the select, youth and junior levels, IREVA will be sending two junior teams to compete in the National High Performance Championships this July in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. To help sustain and expand this program, IREVA is teaming with MySportsDreams in a fundraising effort. If you’d like to make a donation to support the HP program, please see HP DONATIONS, or just click here:

  • For anyone who has been emailing Hazel Goldstein and hasn't heard back from her, please be aware that her personal email address was changed last month due to a pc virus. as in the past, you can contact hazel via her juniors@ireva.org email address.

  • Plans are being made for the IREVA HP program for 2009. see HIGH PERFORMANCE page for tryouts info; more to follow on tryouts and camps asap.

  • New this year will be an IREVA HP coaching clinic, scheduled for 4/5/09 in conjunction with HP tryouts at SUNY Potsdam. see COACHES page for details.

  • Club directors are again requested to take a look at WEBPOINT to ensure that their club is correctly reflected with information for the club, club director's contact information, teams and team reps' contact information, etc. all active teams should have players listed. prior year teams should be switched to inactive if they are not current. having good information in the database can assist IREVA with planning our events, communicating with clubs, and guiding prospective members with good information about opportunities.

  • Please ask any vb summer camp directors to forward their camp info to jim bishop. we have created a page for that information on the website [see link below]. we would like to publicize all camps in our region as a service for both our members and for the camp directors - many of whom are also our members.
